hello this is my fun stuff page!!! this is for me to infodump and make lists of things i like. open a tab below and start exploring ^^
this page contains spoilers for many books, movies, shows, and games!!
i love reading!! i'm trying to find new books at the moment the only thing stopping me is waiting for the books i've reserved to come in at the library ToT i absolutely LOVE rereading books some of these i could probably recite word-for-word (defnitely not exaggerating nope not i). anyway here are some of my favourite books/book series!!!
ranger's apprentice by john flanagan
i ADORE ranger's apprentice. i was introduced to it in reading groups in primary school and i've loved it ever since i think it fundamentally changed who i am i literally would not be the same person if i didn't read this series. i've read this series SOOOO much i swear i reread it almost every year. my favourite book is book 7: erak's ransom. i also often visualise this series as well as the early years series in comic form while reading them the visuals would just be so stunning!!
the brotherband chronicles by john flanagan
another john flanagan series i love!!! i think i marginally like this one more over ranger's apprentice i just love the herons so bad. my favourite books are the ones with gilan in them he fits in so well with the herons (i also just love gilan). i think my favourite heron is edvin he's so me trust ( u _u)"^v^v
magnus chase and the gods of asgard by rick riordan
i LOVEEEEE magnus chase dare i say best riordanverse books!!!!!! floor nineteen + blitz, hearth, and sam are the best main cast of any riordanverse series every single book is peak after peak this series is just absolute perfection. i love fierrochase and blitz/hearth they're actually so married. magnus is the left-handed representation we need and deserve.
the trials of apollo by rick riordan
i haven't read this series nearly enough but i love it!! i love lester and meg's brother-sister relationship they're so dear to me. i also want to say an honourable mention to heroes of olympus which i love but i feel like a lot of the characters were let down (*cough* jason grace *cough cough*) (i love you jason grace please come back).
lockwood & co. by jonathan stroud
i LOVEE the lockwood & co books they're actually so peak. if you're a fan of the show i one million per cent recommend reading the books. the show is actually really faithful to the books which i feel like is a sign of a really good book series, however it does condense books 1 and 2 into the one season which i think fits quite well. the universe and world building of lockwood & co is SO GOOD and the characters are so well fleshed out. i love lucy's pov she's so teenage girl like she just hates everyone ToT. i DO prefer the show george karim over the book george cubbins but i think that's just because lucy's pov is so well-narrated that book george sounds really annoying even though i think lucy is just being a judgemental teenage girl.
aristotle and dante discover the secrets of the universe by benjamin alire sáenz
i read this book for the first time when i was 17 which was absolutely the right age to read it. it left me feeling completely empty but like.. in a good way?? i also watched the movie with a friend and it has a different feel to the book it left me feeling happy and hopeful! i've also read the sequel but in my opinion it isn't as good as the first book.
the spirit bares it's teeth by andrew joseph white
in the most positive way possible, reading this book feels like watching a car crash. like it's horrific but you can't look away. i highly recommend this book but i'm completely serious when i say to heed the content warnings. with that out of the way, i love this book!! it's written amazingly. the trans and autistic representation is SO good i absolute love the setting and the world and the visceral medical descriptions.
cemetery boys by aiden thomas
as you can see i have a bit of a ghost theme going on it turns out i love ghost media. it's been a while since i've read this book but i love it!! i haven't read the sequel yet - i honestly completely overlooked it ToT. i also highly recommended 'the sunbearer trials' also by aiden thomas!

how to train your dragon (2010)
i've loved httyd ever since i was a kid!! my favourite movie is constantly changing between the three but the first one will always have a special place in my heart.
how to train your dragon 2 (2014)
my favourite scenes in the franchise are in this film! i love the "where no one goes" scene at the start with hiccup, as well as the "flying with mother" scene PURELY for the score.
how to train your dragon: the hidden world (2019)
overall, i love this movie!! say what you will about the ending, but i think it's absolutely perfect for this franchise and it never fails to make me cry. i do think the characterisation in this film was off for a couple characters, namely snotlout.
dead poets society (1989)
sonic the hedgehog (2020)
sonic the hedgehog 2 (2022)
i actually watched this movie first when it came out!! then i went back and watched the first movie. this planted the seeds for my sonic interest which came a year later

i love music that is really interesting to listen to. like when songs have lots of interesting rhythms and layers, or different time signatures. i also love when lyrics are crafted more like poetry, with interesting turns of phrase and lots of stuff in them that could be pulled apart and analysed.
my favourite way to listen to music is by listening to entire albums on repeat unshuffled. i like being consumed by the entire album, they're crafted in such a specific order. i also love creating playlists based around a single song and trying to find other songs by other artists that match the vibe. i also have one massive playlist that i update regularly with the music i'm listening to.
my number one favourite band!!!
their music is this wonderful cacophonous noise with so many layers of different rhythms and sounds
my favourite song EVER is romance is boring, but i love pretty much every single one of their songs. some specific albums i love are "all hell", "no blues", and "hello sadness" but i genuinely love every single one of their albums and i cycle through them all throughout the year. i also highly recommend their live albums.
her album "songs" actually changed my life
another one of my favourite songs is "simulation swarm" as well as "humans"!!
i love their albums "masterpiece" and "capacity". i also quite like "dragon new warm mountain i believe in you" and "u.f.o.f"
i love how their albums are crafted!! every song sort of melds into each other and creates this super cohesive listening experience.
i think my all time favourite album is "eurus" by them, but i also really like "dear wormwood" and "notos". my greek mythology loving brain also loves how their albums are named after the four gods of the wind.
my current listening obsession! this definitely has nothing to do with my current interest in hermitcraft and life series...
my favourite albums are "beyond beyond beyond" and "foxlore". some favourite individual songs are "nobody", "allies or enemies", and "safe ship, harboured"
whenever i listen to hozier, it's usually playlists people have made of his entire discography.
my favourite album, though, is "wasteland, baby!"
harness your hopes - pavement
we'll never have sex - leith ross
fine - lemon demon
i'll believe in anything - wolf parade
the "how to train your dragon" soundtracks
chappell roan
beabadoobee
wallows
destroy boys
sonic frontiers vocal tracks
mitski

i'm not a very big "gamer" but i have a couple that i really love!! the way i play games is less buying and playing tons and more putting a LOT of time into one game. anyway, here are some of my favourite games!!
splatoon 3
I LOVE SPLATOON!!!!! this game is an irremovable part of my soul at this point. everyone who knows me knows this game. i love the story mode i love neo 3 and deep cut and side order i love splatoon :33
minecraft
i was introduced to minecraft by my cousin during a sleepover and as soon as i got home i downloaded minecraft: pocket edition back when it was like $2 and i was IMMEDIATELY hooked so bad. i think minecraft is one of those games that you discover, and then for the rest of your life you keep coming back to it. i don't even remember when i first discovered minecraft youtube but all these years later i'm STILL in the building.
hades
rahhh i love hades!!! this was the first roguelite i've played and i LOVE it. i absolutely love all the characters i love all their stories and development and the ARTSTYLE???? actually gorgeous
hades ii
AMAZING sequel i love the omega move system and the like brewing system and the two routes?? also they somehow STEPPED IT UP with the art god the character art and the environments are SO pretty i was in awe when i first made it to olympus. i also love how it isn't too grindy. like i feel like when games implement resource gathering/foraging/something similar they always make the resources way too rare and it's SO hard to progress but the gathering system is perfect in hades ii!! my literal ONE gripe with this game is the individual character stories like i haven't even completed most of them. i completed echo and narcissus' story and it was so nothing burger like neither of them changed meaningfully they're in the exact same places they were before just less bitter about it?? like neither of them actually changed or learnt anything. narcissus is still obsessed with himself, and echo still has zero agency. also prometheus deserved better he could have had SO MUCH importance to the story. he directly opposed the gods and represented their obsession with vengence and control he could have been a huge catalyst for potential character development for mel in realising that the gods aren't kind and that humankind might be better off without them. and then that would have tied in way better with arachne, narcissus, and echo's stories with being cursed by the gods!!! wow i did not mean to write all that i promise i DO love hades ii ToT
the legend of zelda: breath of the wild
such a gorgeous game!!! i love the memories so much like link ACTUALLY DYING had me in shock like that should've been obvious with the shrine of ressurection but i crode, dude. also revali i LOVE revali i love all the champions they make me so sad.
sonic x shadow generations
this was my first ever sonic game!! i love shadows story i crode ToT. the boss fights were so fun especially shadow's i love how powerful they make you feel!! i also went insane whenever i saw my favourite sonic characters in a sonic game (crazy, right?) (i got to beat them up). i've also played sonic origins but it's not on here because i never completed it ToT

i found splatoon with the release of splatoon 3 in 2022. my fyp was FLOODED with clips and i was like "i have no idea what's going on but i NEED to experience it". i then bought a nintendo switch oled and splatoon 3 in october of that year and i was hooked immediately. i completed the entire story campaign in like three days. i would come home from school and play splatoon until like 9 at night. i played splatoon almost every day for the next two years, only slowing down last year when i went to uni and the wifi in my apartment didn't let my switch connect. i'm an absolute FIEND for splatoon it will forever be my favourite game franchise i love my silly little octoling.
my FAVOURITE game mode is salmon run i absolutely love it :3 i absolutely love when the hazard level starts getting high like i lock in i reach flow state i love the chaos. the frame drops when it gets SUPER chaotic actually crack me up. i also love the sound design of splatoon!! how like everything has unique sounds. i've had dreams before where i'm playing salmon run and like the sounds are completely accurate.
outside of salmon run, i main octobrush and tristringer!! the first weapon i mained was silver aerobrush. man aerobrush was my JAM i was so good at that weapon. i still love reefslider i don't want to hear anything about it being a "bad special" it's so fun. my favourite ranked mode changes constantly (entirely based on how well i do in them) but i generally like splat zones and rainmaker. i didn't touch clam blitz for the first like year and a half but i actually love it now it's so fun. probably 'cause i'm a brush main ToT. i've also collected all of the tableturf cards and all the gear (except for about half of the amiibo gear)
i also absolutely ADORE side order!!! it was my first rogue lite and i actually love the genre now. however, i do wish they went the darker route with the story like what the trailers kind of teased. the side order trailers are actual masterpieces they fueled me for like the year between the first trailer and the actual dlc release.
my favourite idol group is definitely deep cut (100% biased) they're so silly together. i'm SO excited for splatoon raiders. if it's a nintendo switch 2 exclusive i'm gonna riot. i also really love the squid sisters marie is so me trust ^o^ i think my favourite agent is neo 3, but i also really love 4 purely because she's underrated and i always love underrated characters.
i really love when people get into the lore and world of splatoon. i highly recommend rassicas on youtube for splatoon lore videos.
here are some of my personal headcanons about how the world works:
ya i really love splatoon ^^

w3 schools - HUGE for learning html and css
this video by dollcrds - basics of html and css and how they work together to make a layout
sadgrl's layout maker - studied this code to learn how to make side bars, headers, and navigation bars
this video by teddy bear - inspired me to make this website!
gifcity - this is where i found the cloud stamp used for the homepage, i then used the border for the rest of my navigation bar stamps
coco's pixel safari - this is where i found the clownfish favicon in the head section
i found most of the background, header, and navigation bar images on pinterest with the exception of the jellyfish header on the home page, which is a photo taken in splatoon 3 (grand festival grounds, that tranquil dawn)
