hi!! i'm toby (he/they), welcome to my site!

i've thought about posting my art online before, but whenever i try to start i get intimidated and never do. but i still want to put my art out somewhere! so here we are ^ ^

i'm in love with art and the act of creation. i have a little bucket list goal to try as many art forms as possible. my number one will always be drawing - traditional and digital. i've loved drawing for as long as i can remember and i've been doing it consistently ever since primary school. i also want to say that i'm a painter, but that's very misleading in that i haven't properly painted anything in over a year. i also quite enjoy sewing! i've made a couple little projects here and there, and i quite enjoy making pins out of felt for my bag. i love making pins for my bag! almost all of the pins on my backpack are made by me.

i've also made little things out of clay before, and done a wheel pottery workshop! wheel pottery is so incredibly fun i highly recommend it, it's strangely meditative in a way. i also know how to knit, and so far i've knit about 5% of a scarf! mhm.

other things i like are writing and reading, but moreso reading. i used to be good at writing, i think, but now i'm pretty amateur. i love coming up with stories and things in my head, but it's the actually-writing-them-into-a-proper-story part that i kind of neglect.

i'm very inspired by the natural world. i love looking up at the clouds and studying their infinite shapes. i'm also inspired a lot by animals, sometimes they just have the most interesting creature design. i love fish and aquatic animals! i don't know very much about them but they look cool C: also birds, birds are very cool.

aside from art, i love history! more specifically ancient history, and even more specifically the normal, everyday parts of history. we focus a lot on the wars and the important figures, which is very important!! but it's the lives of the humans that once lived that i find most fascinating. how they lived so incomprehensibly long ago, but really they aren't so different from us today. related to that, i'm currently studying secondary education and arts at uni, majoring in english and ancient history.
